This is the ‘beast’ of my waggler float designs! This float was designed from many sessions on shallow stretches of the Severn where you needed to use thick 5lb and 6lb lines to cope with hard fighting barbel. Standard wagglers that took enough shot to be cast to the correct distance were simply too long for the depth of water but once I tried the hand made prototypes of this pattern I immediately knew I was onto a winner! The shotting equation for this float is very similar to the Standard Speci Waggler with a No4 down for every two feet of water plus a No6 or even a No4 on the hooklength. Interestingly, this design has also found favour with anglers fishing shallow for carp with pellets.

We recommend either a Drennan or Maver Swivel float attachment for these floats.
